Wedding Quilt and Bedroom Curtains

I made curtains for my bedroom. My mom send me this lace fabric, but I didn't get around to sew them until now.

When we moved to this house I made curtains for the living room, kitchen, my sewing room and now the bedroom. The bedroom took a major renovation. It had a pink carpet and pink stripe wallpaper that was kind a cute, but the hubby didn't like it :). So we had to strip the wall paper, and we got a new carpet and we paint it. Thanks to our friends Chuck, Heather and Bret for their help! My hubby let me pick the colors and I love them. It has a two different colors on the opposite walls. Here is a picture of the quilt on our bed now:

I started this quilt before our wedding. The fabric was a gift from my mother-in-law. She helped me pick the fabric, but my color choices were based on my favorite color green and my husband's orange. They go together so nice! :)) What is on your bed?

I got a second award! Life is Grand! Thanks to my dearest friend Millie, from "Millie's Quilting" for nominating me for second award! She is a professional long arm quilter and she has a very interesting blog, so be sure to stop by here!

Life is Grand! Yes, it is! I usually learn from my own experience, I learned that life is precious after I lost my father. I miss him dearly!

The Rules are I have to list 5 reasons why my life is "grand", and then pass it on to five more peeps.

1. My life is grand because I am married to the love of my life.
2. My family is in good health!
3. I have the best family that supported all my dreams and told me I can do anything I want.
4. I am very happy my dad met my husband and he really liked him. I am thankful for that.

Another finished UFO

I finished another project in February. This is my "Ribbon Star" table runner:

The back of the table runner looks good, too! I used a fabric from my mom's stash. I brought it from Bulgaria. It feels so good any time you finish a project, isn't it?

Valentine Food

My hubby is a very good cook! He made homemade pizza. Isn't he talented!
I made Emeril's flourless chocolate cake. It has a pound of chocolate in it! I used an Orange flavour liqueur instead of Kahlua and orange extract instead of vanilla. I was out of parchment paper and I will definaltly use that next time to help take it out of the form. It was soo good and chocolaty!

Valentine's Early Surprise

I got a phone call this morning that the florist have a delivery for me. I called my husband and asked him if he knew about, and he said that he didn't. Well, of course I knew it was from him! I have the sweetest husband in the world! He sent me flowers and a card, just like when we were dating!
So romantic! I love him !
The heart shape flowers and the purple and pink tulips are one of my favorites!

My Valentine's Decorations

I designed and made this heart for my front door to decorate for Valentine's Day. I got a lot of compliments and I decided to make few more and open an Etsy shop. I hope I will be successful at this new adventure for me.

The heart features two different fabrics for the front and back. This side has cute little hearts. I used a vintage ribbon from Bulgaria.

This cute teddy bear is in my bedroom all year around. I love him, he is so cute! I got it for our first Valentine from my now husband, along with a basket of flowers. I grew up in Bulgaria, so I have seen people receiving flowers by courier only in the movies. I felt like I was in a movie. LOL :) So this teddy bear is very special to me!

This is on my coffee table in the living room. My mom crochet this doily and I sent this hugging bears souvenir to my husband for another Valentine. I love Valentine's Day! I would love to see how other people decorated.

I got an Award!

This is a blogging award that originated in Portugal and this is what it says about the blogs who are given this award.....
"This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are extremely charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award."

Oh my goodness! I can't believe I got an award! I feel so honored! Thank you to my dearest friend Millie over at "Millie's quilting". Be sure to check her blog as she is always working on creative and inspiring projects!

Now is my turn to nominate other 8 bloggers with this award:
I like what this award stands for: friendships made over the internet! I like reading about different customs all over the world and finding out that we are all the same people deep inside no matter where we live.

Super Bowl Quilting, Glow in the Dark, Free Motion Quilting and Food

During the Super Bowl I worked on the binding of my table runner. I am very happy the way it turn out. I used a Glow in the Dark thread for the quilting. You can see it really glows! I tried taking pictures in the dark of my quilt, but it has to be very dark and it's not working, but it glows!

This was my first time using the darning foot on my Janome and doing stippling. It was fun, but I need more practice! I quilted squares in the four patches and in the middle and did the stippling on the white triangles and that was a challenge.

I made the best Buffalo wings using Alton's Brown recipe. You can get it here. First you steam the wings for 10 min and then refrigerate for an hour, then bake 20 min each side on a rack. Toss with the sauce of your choice! Delicious!

I made Double Bake Potatoes that were great with the wings! :)
