Quilt Shops Hopping and Quilting!

Here is an update on out Eastern PA Shop-hopping.

This is the quilt at "Quilter's Pallet" in Fleetwood, made out of the basket blocks. The quilter used wool for the appliqué flowers. It's one of my favorite.

Here is the quilt at "Lady Fingers Sewing Studio"

This is "Happy Sewing Room" quilt. I am a little bias when I say, this is one of my favorite quilt since I quilted it and my mother in law designed and piece the quilt. It was the second quilt I quilted on my New Joy Gold Standard frame.

Here is a close up of the quilt on the frame:

I think the leave design went perfect with the baskets!

This is "Allentown Sewing" quilt:
This hand quilted quilt was a door prize, but either of us, me or Heather didn't win it.

The quilt was displayed at ''Wooden Bridge" and bellow is their sample that was hand quilted also.
I have few more quilt shops to show you! Till then...........Happy sewing!

Eastern Pennsylvania Shop Hop '09- First Day

Yesterday was a fun day of shop hopping! Me and my friend Heather went to four shops. During shop hop you can purchase a passport and then visit all the participating shops to get stamped and qualify for big prizes. Each shop sells a block and each shop puts it together differently. You are able to purchase a block at each shop. We decided not to buy the blocks and instead shoped other fabrics.
First we went to Easton to the "At Piece Quiltery". I forgot to take picture of their shop hop quilt. I bought a special fabric for a Christmas gift, I hope when is done the recipient will like it!

After that we were on the way to Stroudsburg, they are two shops there. Below is the "American Ribbon" shop hop sample.

Below is "Pocono Sew & Vac" quilt.

Then we were on the way to Effort to visit "Country Quiltery".

We thought we would have a hard time finding that store since the GPS couldn't find the address, but we found it easily! They served local apple cider outside the shop. I took a picture of Heather as she was taking a cup.

We had fun at all shops, we bought a lot of pretty fabrics! Here is a part of my loot! :)

Now, I am going to get busy sewing! Happy sewing to you, too!

Quilt Retreat in Milwaukee, WI

I have been sewing up a storm. I want to share with ya about a trip to Milwaukee, WI.

These are pictures were taken at the rest stop in Western PA. The tree leaves were changing their colors, very pretty!

I just thought the bear was so cute!

This was our hotel room in Milwaukee. I loved the warm colors, perfect for Fall!

You are probably thinking where is the quilt retreat? It was in the hotel room. I was sewing while hubby went to meetings. I got so much done! I borrowed Mom mom's little Janome Gold. The machine worked great on the little coffee table. I had a cutting station set up on the desk.

I pieced a charity quilt I sign up for and two table runners. One of the runners is a surprise for my sister so I can't show you yet. The charity quilt is for Quilts for kids they send me the kit very fast. The kit include everything but the bathing. I had so much fun piecing it! Now I have to quilt it!

I was lucky we stopped at few quilt shops. Inspired by nature I picked up these fall prints.

The first shop was "Quilts and Kreations", OH.

On the way back to the high way my husband saw a sign for underground quilt shop. The shop was called "Olla Mae's Drygoods " and it was located in basement, we had to take an elevator to the underground level, under a bank. I found these treasures:

My favorite quilt shop on the trip was "Sew Little Time",OH. It was a little shop with very friendly stuff.

Maybe it was my favorite because found these fabrics, aren't they pretty?

I got my frame working so I will be posting about it! Stay tunned...
