Fun Day!

I had a fun day sewing with Mom and chatting with Mom mom! I was working on my blue and yellow quilt "Chealsea Morning", Mom was working on her "Orange Crush" and Mom mom was reading a book and chatting :). We saw a very funy movie after dinner "Fools Gold" with Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. I remembered that I have seen them both together in another fun movie I have "How to lose a guy in 10 days". It was a fun day to remember!

I tried to use provided by the book half-square triangle grids, but I think that Thangles are faster and easier, so I switched to them. I got a lot of strips cut today! Yupee!

New additions to my stash!

These are the fabrics my hubby brought back from his trip to Kansas! There are lovely! Thank you Scot!

I got these pretty batiks from "Sew Smart Fabrics" in Doylestown on a trip we took with Bret last Saturday. We visited a game shop for some D&D supplies, so everybody was happy!

Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery!

" Many people will walk in and out of your life,
but only true friends leave footprints in your heart.
To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.
Anger is only one letter short of danger.
If someone betrays you once, it is his fault;
if he betrays you twice, it is your fault.
Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events;
small minds discuss people. He who loses money, loses much;
he who loses a friend, loses much more; he who loses faith, loses all.
Beautiful young people are accidents of nature,
but beautiful old people are works of art.
Learn from the mistakes of others.
You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.
Friends, you and me. . . you brought another friend. . .
and then there were three. . .
we started our group. . .
our circle of friends. . .
and like that circle. . .
there is no beginning or end. . .
yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.

Today is a gift.
That is why they call it the present."

-Eleanor Roosevelt

"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift! That's why they call it the present!"

- it's true! I heard this quote in the ''Kung Fu Panda" movie. The movie was pretty funny, I wouldn't mind to see it again! :) Me and Scot met for first time our friend Greg's girlfriend, Stacey - she is lovely! We had a nice dinner at "Chef Alan's"! I planted few more flowers in my garden and water them. Today, I had a beautiful day, tomorrow is a mystery! :-)

Bret's B-day Present - Done!

I am very happy I finished Bret's Quilt!

I think it looks great! I design it for his Birthday! It has Dragon, coffee cup and a music for a piano in the center. My idea was to make a quilt all about Bret's hobbies! The brown around the aquares symbolise Bret's hiking in the woods, the bear paw fabric stands for Tricky Owl bear - his and Scot's publishing company, there are some lady bugs you can see in his room from time to time and of course some Celtic ornaments. I am very proud I design it with Mom and Scot's help, quit it and even put a sleeve and label! :) I hope he likes it!

Quilts and Rain...

Last night Mom invited me to a quilting guild meeting and they had a very nice speaker Patty - she is sister of Eleanor Burns. She introduced Eleanor's latest book "Victory Quilts". It was a lot of fun and I learned a new technique to make Flying geese. Thanks for inviting me Mom!

It finally rain in Hamburg yesterday! When we came home the rain was over. But I think my flowers are happy today!There were two other storms that past by us. We really needed it! It was kind of funny because I wasn't home, I was where the storms were. The first one we were in Borders and we even lost power for a minute. I was worryed that I forgot to close one of the windows, but it didn't rain here! Lucky me! The second one I even have a picture, we were in Wild Wood!

Heat Wave in PA

It has been very hot last few days around 96F/ 35C. I did water my newly plant flowers tonight and last night. I thought I would cool off looking at these pictures from Greece my sister Rossy took last year on a trip there. I talked to my mom today and she said it is cold in Bulgaria. Lucky!

"Sex in The City"

  I saw "Sex in The City" on Friday with my hubby Scot and our friends Chuck and Heather. We went for the 9th o'clock show, but it was sold out! I can see why! :) So we went to Chilies and me and Heather had a cocktails! Mmm... they were pretty good! After that we went for the 10:15 show.
  I absolutely loved the movie! I am a big fan and I waited so long.... It was  emotional roller coaster that takes you for a wonderful pleasurable ride!  I  cried few times... then laugh...then cried again.....then laugh......and I loved every minute of it!!!
  I was so happy to see all of the characters, because it's like people you know. On top of the that each of them got a fair share of the movie - which I loved! The beauty of it is that the four girls remain friends, no matter what! As you see I am trying not to give up too much of the screen play and ruin it for everybody that didn't see it- because they should - especially if you liked the series!!!
  Mr. Big finally got a name - mmm... I think John.... but for me he is still MR. BIG. What's wrong with that name! :) Some people don't really like Carrie, but I think she did an awesome job of playing her character + she can pull off any fashion style! And there is Fashion! There were all the big brands that we saw in the series too. For some people there are a little too much commercials, but I personally tried to ignore it and didn't really bother me! Well, maybe a little ..... the really ugly bags... Louis  Vuitton. They are hideous!
