I Spy Fabrics, Hawaii and Obvious Store

I received the fabric from the "I spy" swap I signed in. Karen from "Sew Many Ways" organized it and I am very very happy I participated. Thank you Karen for organizing it! If you haven't visited Karen's blog you are missing her Tool Time Tuesday posts where she looks at tools and stuff around the house outside of the box!

Each person had to get 3 fabrics and cut 40 - 5'' squares and mailed it to Karen with self addressed envelope. I was so exciting when I received my fabric and was going through it like reading a book! :)

Karen was so sweet and make for everyone a necklace pin cushion! Thank you Karen! I love mine! You can store a small scissor and pins and on the other end you can skew a bobbin with your thread for sewing and then the nut will hold it there. Here is the tutorial of it if you would like to make your own.

I organized the fabric in few categories: food, sports, novelty, animals and sewing and knitting. The top row fabrics are the ones I sent: with lady bugs, chickens and bats. I can make a few very cute quilts with all the fabrics and I decided to start adding more novelty fabrics to my collection.

I wanted to share the picture of the Hawaiian coffee and chocolates we received from my sister-in-law and family. They are so good, that's why I am just sharing the picture. :) It was great seeing them and now they are on their way back to Hawaii. Have a nice trip guys!

Talking about family I want to give a shout out to my brother-in-law's "State the Obvious Store". If you are looking for a last moment gift to someone who has everything and likes humor you should check it out!

I am working on a couple Christmas gifts so I can't share pictures, yet!

Happy sewing!

Awesome Eye-Spy charms Zlaty! So many! Whoohoo! 8-)

Your link to the sewer's necklace doesn't take me to the tutorial for some reason. I was searching Karen's blog for it last night but couldn't find it either... 8-(

Yummy looking goodies from your family! 8-)

Really clever sewer's necklace tutorial. Even though I often visit hardware stores for jewelry elements and quilting embellishments, I never would have thought about using hardware that way.

Really good idea for a swap! It must have been fun sorting through the fabrics to see what you had!

Thanks Myra for letting me know the links weren't working! My husband helped me to fix them! The pin cushion idea is so smart!

Happy sewing!
