My newest obsession ...Earings

My newest obsession is making custom embroidered earrings! They are so much fun to experiment and they are amazingly light weight! I don't like wearing heavy earrings that you feel relieved to take off at the end of the day. The embroidered ones you don't feel like you are wearing, because they are so light weight. I made some shamrocks for St. Patty's day, that were real hit my family and friends. The initial ones you can wear all year round! Customize them to an outfit or a special dress! Endless possibilities!  Check out my Etsy shop for  pictures of the Initial collection earrings!

Pretty colors in grey winter + more

We are in a middle of winter and we have snow and ice on the ground. I Took a walk the other day and suddenly there is pop of green in my sight.  Don't you love that green house? The guy that owns it used to own our movie theater in town. He is very artistic and has a lot of handmade art pieces in his garden. We love to walk by it and admire his creations.  My kids favorite is a fountain frog, but it's frozen so I didn't take a picture of it. I have to say that green is my favorite color, so I know why I love that house. But those little flowers on the windows are so adorable! Just what I needed it to pick up my spirits! :)
Do you have a bright painted houses in your neighborhood?

I decided to listed some more items in my Etsy shop. I am working on the "meh" pillow.
Half of what we say, it's HOW we say it!  True?

Also it will be perfect, if you don't love Valentine's day!

I also listed my Easter bunny, if you would like to order one better order soon. They are $ 19.99 + shiping. I am thinking of making a whole family of bunnies! :) I can make them different sizes. That it's the bigest size. The pattern is from Dolls and daydreams.

I had fun this morning. Made this FIGHT the cancer tag for a friend and also I am gonna post it on my etsy shop. Everybody going trough that fight can use a little encouragement and support.
The peep is to be made into a hair clippie.
ALSO last weekend a digitizer needed a help testing Alphabet charms. So I volunteered to test the letter V or N. She sent me to test the V, let's say my youngest wasn't happy that I didn't make her a necklace with a charm with her initial. I had to ask for the letter N, too! I had two happy little girls afterwards . As a thank you for testing I got the whole Alphabet for FREE! YUPPIE!

Love is in the air.... or hanging on my stove! :)

We had our snow day yesterday,  we got ....wait for it .....2inches! I love how the media likes to create drama...they call it historical storm. We were supposed to get between 5"and 9".
It is much worst in NY and MA, they got I believe 2 feet of snow, which is a lot. But how can event be historical before it happens?
I stayed warm and sewed. I made Rose flower towel topper. I am really happy how it turned out. I didn't follow the directions they had for making it because I didn't want to use spray adhesive.
What are you working on?

Need a little Spring? Look at that fabric!

Here on the East Coast in US we are getting ready for another Winter storm. What season is where you live?

My favorite season is Spring, can't wait! I love to go for walks and be in the nature!
A customer asked me to make her pair of the Heart Oven Mitts. She wanted to match her kitchen in yellow, rust and brown. She picked this fabric from my stash! I love this print and how they turn out. I used Insulin-Bright and a layer of batting to make sure they are not just pretty but functional, too!

With the storm coming, I hope to get to sew and watch the snow falling, out if my window! Or maybe make a snowman?

Happy sewing!

We celebrated our 10th year anniversary this year, so I made Mr. & Mrs. Sign to put it in a frame. I am glad I made it.  I now have an excuse to go picture frame shopping.  I have to admit I love picture frames! :)

They are $25 + shipping.  They are great wedding presents or Anniversary gift, or why not for Christmas.

I also made one for a wedding gift for a couple to be married. Love the fall colors and that is the theme for the wedding. Did your wedding have a theme? Our was orange and green as our favorite colors.

Quilt for Very Dear Friend from Circle of Friends!

BREAST CANCER, that is the scary diagnose that a member of our monthly Happy sewing club got.  I decided that naturally we should make a quilt. That is what we do! It's a way to show our love  and support for her.
Judy was diagnosed with breast cancer in August and decided to organize our sewing group to make the quilt ASAP. Judy already had a lot of health problems this year, she was looking forward next year. She had a very painful back surgery, while recovering she had to go trough a kidney stone surgery, then she got bitten by a tick and had her leg swollen, walking with crotches  and got limes disease, and last she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

This is a picture of most of the ladies that help with the quilt.

Everyone made a block or more. Melissa donated the backing fabric. Eleanor donated fabric for the borders. Jean - my mother-in-law volunteer to piece it, add the border, piece the backing. She also did sew the binding by hand in one day! I quilted the quilt on my short arm machine.

Judy was beyond surprised and overwhelmed by our gesture. She deserves to know her friends love her and appreciate her! We are all wrapped around her in a form of the quilt to help her go trough this!

Bellow is the block that I made. Judy loves and raises chickens and also loves cats and dogs.

You can see the backing fabric here. This is a picture with the quilt on my machine.

More close ups of the quilt!

I hope that the quilt helps Judy when she has hard times as she is getting ready to start her chemo treatment. We love you Judy!
