Pay it forward!

I've signed up for the wonderful event
Pay it Forward
It is all about Random Acts of Kindness and surprising someone with a special gift.

Have you seen the movie? It is a must see :) It's about improving the world, a young boy decides that if he can do three good deeds for someone and they in turn can "pay it forward" and so forth, positive changes can occur.

Here's how Pay It Forward works:

I've signed up with Because the Nice Matters and committed to send the next 3 people who sign up here with me on my blog a handmade item
and goodie package within 365 days.

By excepting my invitation, YOU agree to Pay it Forward to the next 3 people who sign up with you (on your blog) and send them something within 365 days.
Want to join the fun and Pay It Forward?

I'd love to have you sign up with me!!!
Please leave a contact email so I can confirm the details with you.

Let's pay it forward!

Happy Women's Day!

Happy Women's Day to all women!

Today, March 8th is International Women's Day!

It is a very big holiday in Bulgaria. The tradition sees men honouring their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc. with flowers and small gifts.
I just found out that The United States even designates the whole month of March as 'Women's History Month'.

I hope everyone will have a nice day and celebrate!

This is a photo of a quilt I took at Quilt Fest in NJ. The quilt is made by Kathy Dowie from Richmond, Illinois.
The vase and the orchid were stitched using thread painting technique and appliqued to the background.

I will post more pictures of the Quilt Fest later, stay tuned...

"Foolish Goose Tracks" - Step Two

I completed step two of "Foolish Goose Tracks" BOM design by Heather Finnel. I am having so much fun with this project. As you remember I picked my fabrics different then Heather's colors. I washed all of them so they are ready to go! I was inspired by that dark blue fabric.
I didn't mark my fabrics, so I am having fun and picking on the spot fabrics. I really like it so far, what do you think? The next photo is not on a point and it looks different. Step 3 will be available on the 15th so I have a chance to work on some of my other projects.

Happy sewing!

Happy "Baba Marta"

Today, March 1st in Bulgaria, we celebrate "Baba Martha", March is Marth in Bulgarian. People give each other "martenichki" bracelets made of white and red yarn or little pins made of white and red yarn. When they tie your bracelet you can make a wish for each knot they tie - usually 3 knots.

You wear your bracelet until the Spring comes, usually when you see a blooming tree or you see a stork. Then you tie your bracelet to a tree or you put it under a stone so your wishes will come true. It's a fun holiday and it's celebrated only in Bulgaria. I thought I would share it with my blogging friends.
