The present my mom and sister sent December 10th last year finally arrived 50 days later! I don't know why it took so long, but I am happy it finally made it here. I love the sweater! Thank you!

Fabric, Cooking.......Fun
These are my fabric choices for the new project "Foolish goose tracks" by Heather Finnel.
I got all the fabrics from my local shop "Happy Sewing Room". It's a short BOM lasting six months begining January. The new blocks will be given on the 15th each month! My dear friend Millie is joing me and I am very excited to see what fabric colors she will pick.
We downloaded the Tetris Party on the Nintendo Wii and it's a great family game, we played all weekend!
I am washing my fabrics today, hopefully I will work on step one tomorrow. I also worked on my secret project last weekend. I am making a wedding quilt for my baby sister in Bulgaria. I have it almost half pieced! It's a very exciting project, I picked a very happy and bold fabrics ;), but no .....I can't show it!

I made for diner "Rulo Stefany". It's traditional Bulgarian meal. It was very tasty! I served it with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli and gravy. The rulo is traditionally made with pickles, boiled carrots and eggs, but my husband doesn't like the pickels :)

Sixth Picture Meme - I've Been Tagged
I was tagged by my friend Millie from Millie's Quilting for a Sixth Picture Meme. I had to go to my Pictures folder, then go to the sixth folder and show the sixth picture in it and tell the story behind it. Here it is:
Now it's my turn to tag six people to play along. Tag your it:
Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
Go to the 6th Folder, then pick the 6th picture in that folder.
Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture.
Tag 6 other people that you know or don’t know to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog or an e-mail letting them know you chose them.
Have fun with the game!
It's a picture of my DH and my brother-in-law Ryan in front of the house they lived in Arizona. Ryan is in the Army so they have to move a lot. They are living in Hawaii right now. My husband and his father drove from PA to Arizona their car and then my sister-in-law and the kids flew there to join Ryan. They are such a lovely family and I miss my nephews!
As a bonus I decided to show you the Sixth picture of My Quilts folder:
I made this "Ribbon Star Table Runner" few years ago for my mother-in-law and then I decided to make one for me too. I used original pattern from Happy Sewing Room. I have mine quilted and its missing only the binding. I hope showing it will motivate me to finish it soon :)Now it's my turn to tag six people to play along. Tag your it:
- Barb of Ocean Waves Quilts
- Julie of I wonder what will happen if...
- Veronica of Rather be Quilting
- Judy of Patchwork Times
- Kathy of Quiltldy
- Heather of Heatherfinnell

New Tool ...
My husband and I went to "Lowes" the other night. We were checking out and he put on the table this green tape measure, I just smiled :-) He knew to hide it, until the register, because I wouldn't let him get me one, since we already have few of those around the house :))
I didn't know he didn't like me using his tape measure :)) Here is a picture of both of them, they look pretty much the same:

I have to admit I use this type of tape measure almost every day. I like to measure the furniture ,quilts and the windows for curtains and how to rearrange the furniture.... I have so many uses for it. I guess the problem is that Scot like to keep it in his tool box, but since I use it so often I kept it on his desk on hand ;)
Anyway, now I have new tool and it's green! I am not complaining :)))))

What a Surprise from Millie!
I got a package in the mail yesterday. It was a big box full of goodies from my friend Millie. She deleted her blog by mistake and I felt so bad for her, after all the time and love she put into it. I am so excited she decided to blog again!
I opened the box and I found this pretty bag!!! I love the colors and the pink tissues :-)
She must of gone crazy to send me so much stuff, I was stunned! She sent me lots of pretty fabrics, a wonderful book "Easy Does it for Friends", a very cute card and a box of chocolates. I started eating them right away! :-)
I love these pastel colors, there are so feminine!
This is a view of one of the pages of the book and I made a "border" around it with the fabrics from Millie! This is the cutest book I've seen! I like all the projects in it!
I can't say enough Thank You Millie!

I am joining "Quiltathon '09"
I decided to join the Quiltathon weekend. It is snowing here in PA. It is a perfect day to spend sewing. I made breakfast, lunch will be leftover chicken soup. I am ready to go, made special Bulgarian coffee in my little espresso maker and drinking coffee in the mug - I got for Christmas from my brother in law Bret. I am working on blocks for the border for my blue and yellow quilt.
Happy Sewing everyone!

Pineapple Welcome Quilt
I was looking at some of my UFO's and I found out that I am missing the letter "L" in the "Pineapple Welcome Quilt". I picked it up from "Caroline's Cottage Cottons"IN, design by Cyndy Lash.
I guess finishing it will require making a new "L" :-)
This quilt was a challenge to me color wise. I did get the kit, but then I did not like some of the colors, so I replaced them. I don't have a big collection of batiks, which is why I got the kit, but I am working on it ;-)
In Memory of my father!
My dad Vasil Dichev was a very happy guy. He was always joking and he was the heart of the company. I miss him and think of him often. It is five years now since he past away, but it feels like yesterday. I know he is watching over our family and helping us through hard times.
Rest in peace Dad!

Four Quilt Shops on the way to Chicago from PA
I got this two winter fabrics at the first shop "Heirloom Quilting and Antiques " we stopped at.
I was on the way out when I saw the sheep fabric and I had to get half a yard for the quilt I will make for my mom. She and my dad used to have a mini farm with one or two sheep we used to butcher every year.
After that we visited a little quilt shop that I didn't find inspiration fabric, so I was good and didn't buy anything. Next, we visited "The Door Mouse" which is a must see shop in Ohio. They've got lots, lots bolts. I got a lot of Christmas fabrics and I couldn't resist the butterfly fabric :) My husband has a great taste, he picked these fabrics and I will sew the quilt! Pretty!
"Quiltology" is a very modern city shop in Chicago. They have bright colors, lots of Amy Butler and Kaffe Fassett fabrics.

I got a neat Blue Santa panel and some fabrics that will go with some of my stash. I wanted to get some of the Amy Butler fabrics, but I felt guilty because I have a few yards in hand and haven't done much with it. I loved the green tissue paper the owner wrapped my purchases, so I took the picture with it.
